WHAT ARE THE CHOICES FOR LIP AUGMENTATION?
Enlarging and shaping lips is an artistic and technical challenge. Not only does it require a meticulous injection technique but also a deep understanding of the lip anatomy. It is essential to enhance the unique contour before increasing pure volume of the lips.

Augmentation can be achieved in two ways:

FILLERS

We choose natural hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane as they have different benefits:

Allergy is extremely rare and no testing is necessary.
Control over volume. The amount of filler injected can be controlled at any time
Bumps occur rarely and can be dissolved easily
Less bruising and swelling compared to fillers with animal components

We often prefer to use a combination of two different hyaluronic acid fillers for volume ( high viscosity) and contour to achieve perfect, natural looking lips.

NATURAL GRAFTS

There are basically two options. The first being fat graft harvested from other body areas. After processing it is placed in very small pieces to increase the lip volume.

The second choice is strips of connective tissue harvested through a hidden incision (under the hair) and inserted in the lips.

Both options can be performed under local anesthesia and are long lasting. Fillers will mostly last 6 month.
